YES!News

All these modules work in a deeply interconnected environment, thanks to the native integration of SI Media’s NRCS applications with SI Media media asset management YES!MAM. This means SI Media NRCS can simultaneously handle video, audio, text and graphic projects from a single interface, fully integrating the production and non-linear editing in its workflow.
The solution supports MOS protocol thru our own MOS gateway, providing extreme flexibility to integrate our applications with 3rd party teleprompters, CG’s, playout contribution and other devices or software.

In Blue YES!Newsroom workflow

Social media are a crucial aspect of SI Media NRCS YES!News, both as inputs (with YES!Wires, our wire aggregator to import content from any source, such as Agencies, RSS, APTN, Facebook pages, Instagram or Twitter accounts…) and outputs, giving the possibility to create a real multiplatform digital NRCS, oriented not only to audio/video broadcast, but also to publish media and stories to websites, YouTube channels, Facebook pages and any other destination.

The NRCS client interface is entirely web-based, and enables journalists to work from anywhere and with any device, a key point in the extremely competitive environment of digital newsrooms nowadays.

The extremely user-friendly interface provides a unified screen for creating a story in a single page using SI Media‘s own free text editor compatible with most languages (Unicode support).

YES!NRCS – Story creation user interface

With YES!News, journalists can not only write story scripts, but also can access the content archive, browse assets to create basket/projects and export them to NLE systems and to the embedded proxy editor or to the dedicated Adobe Premiere plug-in.
They can then link final packages, audios, images to their stories and graphics projects as well as lower thirds.

YES!News provides unlimited rundown management with the ability to create templates for each news program. Show and segment producers can review the flow of each story, coordinating the work of all of those contributing to the completion of the finished story. This includes evaluation of the costs of each program and generating detailed reports about the activities of their newsroom.

YES!News has an embedded assignment scheduler to create and manage events within each newsroom, sending notifications to all involved contributors (journalists, video journalists, producers, editors) generating stories from them.
Notifications can be sent to specific user profiles or groups via sms, mail or with the preferred internal chat mechanism. SI Media can also integrate Skype or any other chat application.

At any moment, following the rules defined in the integrated workflow manager, YES!YMM can automatically move the assets throughout different levels of storage. This rule-based automation frees operators from exhaustive manual activity.
YES!YMM can also automate import from FTP sources or watch-folders and exports individual or baskets of content to FTP servers, YouTube and other social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. It has been designed to be cooperative and multi-threading. New servers (physical or virtual) can be added at any time to scale up the system, aggregating the power in order to evenly distribute the workload.
All the processes can be monitored from both server and client interfaces: from a web UI, a user can monitor the status of each task at each step of the process (job), and, if required, validate or interrupt that step of the workflow.

SI Media has integrated Business Process Modeling Language (BPML) inside its platform. This means that YES!YMM can be controlled and configured via BPML, so that processes produced in that environment can be executed by MAM engines, determined by the defined parameters and rules. This feature allows the user to create and design independent processes and flows inside the same architecture.
In order to optimize modulation and consultation of the diagrams, definition of the steps and customization of the language, SI Media uses its own workflow editor that is in compliance with BPMN.
The advantages of this tool are huge: nowadays media workflows require more and more flexibility and possibility to define specific processes/tasks independently, in order to manage alternative media flows and create dynamic environments.

YES!CG handles multiple projects and unlimited layers, allowing users to create complex graphics such as 2D & 3D animations, DVE picture in picture, crawls, and more.

YES!CG is fully integrated with social media, importing data from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram pages, providing a moderator tool to filter and curate the incoming posts and messages.

YES!CG handles dynamic data sources, with dynamic texts coming from .txt, .xml, .csv, .xls files, or RSS feeds and ODBC databases.

Text rendering is in real-time and provides the CG operator live management from the client interface.
Every graphic project can be edited while on-air. The user can change not only the text but also animations, position of the objects and many other properties. The changes can be done directly on-air or in a preview monitor.

YES!CG is multi format and can handle SD, HD, in SDI or IP (NDI and SMPTE 2110 included), UHD/4K.

Projects can be scheduled in YES!News and then automatically played, retrieving metadata from central databases such as journalist name, on air title, location, date.

Journalists can create baskets and projects, composed by any clip, subclip, audio, or image residing in the content archive. Once a placeholder is created, content will be automatically replaced by the final asset when the story is completed. Journalists can also indicate an estimated duration for the final edit in the placeholder.

These baskets can follow three export paths:
-to SI Media’s web-based Proxy NLE
-to Adobe Premiere Pro (with SI Media’s dedicated embedded panel)
-via EDL/XML to other NLE Systems, such as Avid Media Composer, GVG Edius, Sony Vegas, Final Cut Pro, Da Vinci Resolve

YES!MAM fully supports workflows based on Editing in Place (leaving the files in the centralized production storage) or Push & Pull (moving the files required for the editing task in the local cache of the NLE workstation).
For Adobe Premiere Pro a dedicated panel is available: a plug-in that allows browsing the Asset archive, Basket archive and Stories (with the preview of the Voice Over text) directly inside the Adobe Premiere Pro GUI.

A required tool in today’s news and sports production workflow, YES!Wire assists the producer or reporter in gathering, curating, and reviewing the various sources quickly and efficiently from a single screen. This helps get to air faster and with a wider variety of sources.

YES!Wire – Wire aggregator plug-in

From the centralized panel, users can browse any incoming sources based on their login credentials and rights. Each user sees only the wires and sources related to his newsroom, for instance sports or politics.

With YES!Wire, journalists are always connected and, at the same time, they can gather the specific feeds they need for their story. This minimizes the search time using filters (also for social media) and key-words, and the ability to browse and preview the video of each source.

Imagine, for instance, a journalist having an assignment to cover a story about the U.S. elections. The journalist can organize the YES!Wire home page to view only related agency sources relevant to the story.

The user can then select content and generate a new story or a new assignment from it. With just a click, the user can open the original source in a new separated tab, if desired.

YES!Wire will import not only the associated metadata but also linked images and videos, automatically transcoding into house format if needed. The system is multi-format and accepts any type of video, images, audio, as well as documents.

The same news story can be customized for any social media platform or web CMS, (Youtube, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram). Text can be adapted to each destination, and the story content can be automatically transcoded by YES!MAM to the required formats for the desired media destinations.

In addition to journalist name, story title, location, and date, additional Metadata can also be published. The system can also add a branded watermark during export.

With YES!News, the Executive Producer can create completely independent rundowns for OTT/VOD delivery destinations. This ensures maximum workflow flexibility. Depending on the composition of the newsroom, small newsroom journalists can create and deliver the story from the same screen to each destination, while in bigger organizations with dedicated social media departments, the journalists could work with YES!News independently from the conventional television newsroom.

Media organizations can strategically select their priorities with YES!News, scheduling the delivery of content to different destinations.

YES!Way SI Media’s MOS gateway server, complies with MOS protocol 2.8 and previous versions.

It implements levels 1 through 7 of MOS protocol (certified by AP/ENPS), providing integration with 3rd party newsroom computer systems, contribution playout systems, motion graphics systems and teleprompters.
