With our quality check YES!QC and transcoder YES!Coder we monitor the ingest process and ensure that video and audio content complies to your desired standards. And, depending on the final destination, we enable transcoding content from any format to any format, (video-servers, NLE systems, web and mobile platforms, ftp servers, social media platforms).

YES!MAM is fully integrated with production and the variety of professional NLE systems. A dedicated HTML5 Panel for Adobe Premiere Pro, and supports import/export XML with the other major brands (Avid Media Composer, GV Edius, BlackMagic DaVinciResolve, Apple FCP). Also available is our own browser based proxy-editor.

The SI Media HSM module YES!HSM provides integration with the major LTO tape-based libraries (Spectralogic, Quantum, HP, Qualstar, IBM) as well as Sony ODA (optical disk archives).

Our HTML5-based client application allows easy organization and cataloguing of content from any archive. Search among assets, display results, browse the low-res material automatically generated by the embedded proxy engine, edit and customize any metadata.

YES!MAM fully supports Artificial Intelligence processing and cataloguing content (generating and automatically associating any kind of metadata), performs speech to text (converting spoken video recordings into readable and editable text) and language translation, and provides visual analysis (for instance, recognizing explicit content).

It also provides a comprehensive set of reports, big data analysis over unlimited statistical parameters.
Finally, the workflow manager allows definition and management of workflows via Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), ensuring the possibility to configure processes outside SI Media’s system, making the workflow even more integrated and extremely flexible.

The metadata schema is flexible and fully customizable. From the edit asset panel a user can define unlimited sequences/bookmarks, (using key frames and story frames), enrich standard and customized metadata, add references and access the results of the quality check performed by the YES!QC (YES!MAM quality check engine).

At any moment, following the rules defined in the integrated workflow manager, YES!YMM can automatically move the assets throughout different levels of storage. This rule-based automation frees operators from exhaustive manual activity.
YES!YMM can also automate import from FTP sources or watch-folders and exports individual or baskets of content to FTP servers, YouTube and other social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. It has been designed to be cooperative and multi-threading. New servers (physical or virtual) can be added at any time to scale up the system, aggregating the power in order to evenly distribute the workload.
All the processes can be monitored from both server and client interfaces: from a web UI, a user can monitor the status of each task at each step of the process (job), and, if required, validate or interrupt that step of the workflow.

SI Media has integrated Business Process Modeling Language (BPML) inside its platform. This means that YES!YMM can be controlled and configured via BPML, so that processes produced in that environment can be executed by MAM engines, determined by the defined parameters and rules. This feature allows the user to create and design independent processes and flows inside the same architecture.
In order to optimize modulation and consultation of the diagrams, definition of the steps and customization of the language, SI Media uses its own workflow editor that is in compliance with BPMN.
The advantages of this tool are huge: nowadays media workflows require more and more flexibility and possibility to define specific processes/tasks independently, in order to manage alternative media flows and create dynamic environments.

SI Media YES!Coder automates high-volume transcoding & delivery: video and audio are automatically converted among all the major SD\HD\4K broadcast formats.

This high-performance transcoder offers extensive format support, robustness, reliability, excellent output quality and scalability to meet customer workgroup and enterprise volume needs.

For large transcoding tasks, multiple YES!Coder engines can be configured as a transcoding farm under the control of YES!MAM (MAM job and task coordinator), with the services being entirely virtualized.

These allow automated processing of high-volume transcoding tasks, managing job distribution, job prioritization, load balancing, FTP transfer, status monitoring and job notification.

YES!Coder handles any-to-any transcoding processes for several purposes. For file ingest it can transcode and normalize any incoming asset during the ingest process.

YES!Coder can work as well as external executor for runtime rendering of proxy editor engine, or an external executor for automatic or manual upload to social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and more) from any client application inside SI Media. It can handle unlimited social media profiles, with the possibility to transcode while uploading, to retrieve metadata automatically and add specific watermarks for any configured destination.

YES!QC is composed by a configurable list of processes that are integrated in a continuous flow. The first step is a depth static analysis of the incoming contents, where all the characteristics of the media files are examined (video codecs, audio codecs, wrapper, frame-size, bit-rate, frame-rate, frame order, and many others).

After the completion of the static analysis, this information will remain available for each asset as part of the metadata associated with the file.

YES!QC a number of notification alerts are available when errors and anomalies are detected, such as:

  • Timecode discontinuity
  • null audio track found

 

Others are specific for particular types of files:

  • MXF partition open or incomplete (only for MXF)
  • Mandatory item missing (like mandatory initial TAG for video file as AVI or MXF)

 

YES!QC can search for black frames, frozen fames, for absence of audio and/or audio peaks, as well as performing Gamut Analysis and includes a play-test check to automatically verify the file and its compatibility with the entire system.
At the end of this process, based on the rules set in YES!YMM (.YES! Media Manager, MAM job and task coordinator), a quality certificate can be attached to any asset.

It has been designed to be extremely user friendly, providing journalists an easy to use editing tool to begin as well as finish their stories. YES!ProxyNLE performs main tasks including basic cut-cut editing capability, recording the voice-over, adjusting audio levels and output assignments, and adding basic audio and video transitions.

Projects can then be published through the centralized rendering engine YES!Coder, or exported to any NLE system to proceed with additional craft editing. This significantly saves time, better maximizing the editing tasks and assignments of NLE craft systems during peak times.

Among the benefits of YES!ProxyNLE, there is no need to transfer files (Editing in Place), since the application is working with low resolution media that can be easily streamed from the central location of the proxy files.

Natively integrated within YES!MAM and YES!News, users can access the entire media library from the same interface (no matter where the footage is located). This includes any baskets, projects and the story archive.

YES!HSM handles multiple read/write drives without any limitations on the number of tapes hosted in the library. The application includes an automatic function that verifies the integrity of the content of each single tape and the possibility to compact (consolidate) empty or corrupted spaces.

YES!HSM manages a timecode-based partial restore from any asset. Searchable from the MAM user interface, operator marks a timecode in and out on a low res clip and then the HSM restores only the marked portion of the high res sub-clip instead of the entire asset. This is particularly useful for sports events. This feature provides faster retrieval of the necessary archival material for editing and reduces the usage time of the LTO/ODA drives.

SI Media is the first software company to implement Sony ODA integration as deep archive, successfully deploying the solution to an end user in Europe (the Danish Parliament in 2016).

YES!Doctor is a dedicated module that monitors the status of each SI Media software application and hardware network device performance from a single control screen.
It allows configuration of a set of alerts and notifications, reporting each issue and the associated level of urgency.

YES!Doctor also provides a general view of hardware status of all workstations (performance, disk usage, network connectivity, windows registry and history log).
Vital to supporting the daily operations of the IT department of any broadcaster, YES!Doctor is easy to use and is configurable with a comprehensive set of reports, charts and graphics.

Another strategic challenge for media companies and television channels (linear and non-linear) is creating value from the huge quantity of content and data generated and stored during processes and tasks.
Additionally, transforming metadata into useful and profitable information is not only desired, but is increasingly a requirement.

YES!MAM platform offers a set of tools for business analysis purposes (reports, analysis, statistics, tables…), all customizable and configurable, and accessible depending on predefined credentials.

The advanced analysis on the company’s data and the generation of reports on content, tasks and processes. This helps optimize the internal workflows to identify eventual bottlenecks, improving efficiency and resource usage.

Each business process can be properly monitored and improved, with customizable reports on quality check, transcoding tasks, and user activities.

These reports can be filtered, exported and displayed using different visualization techniques, providing administrators a priceless tool to make the best from the big data generated from within the company.

SI Media’s has widely expanded the integration of AI with the YES!MAM platform.

Incoming content is automatically processed and catalogued, generating and automatically associating any kind of metadata.

The system performs speech to text, converting spoken video recordings into readable text which can be converted into a subtitling file, ready for playout.

It also provides visual analysis, recognizing inappropriate material including explicit visual or prohibited content.

The integration with major AI service providers (Google-Cloud, Amazon-AWS, Microsoft-Azure) ensures automatic metadata detection, improving the efficiency and accuracy during ingest and the capability of the advanced search within the Media Asset Management system.

SI Media has also developed a customized feature in cooperation with Google Translation Services to perform automatic translation of metadata inserted by each user in his own language, allowing cross language queries inside YES!MAM. For instance, type a search query in French and get results in English.
